Today, you will enjoy an exceptional trip from Hurghada to the heart of the capital to explore two of Egypt's most important museums, offering a comprehensive and in-depth look at Egypt's rich history spanning thousands of years.
At the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, one of the oldest and most important museums in the world, you will be able to view thousands of rare artifacts, from statues of ancient Egyptian kings and queens to the treasures of King Tutankhamun, including the famous golden mask, coffins, and royal jewelry.
The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat will be your next stop after lunch at a local restaurant. This museum offers a comprehensive chronological history of Egypt from prehistoric times, through the Pharaohs, the Coptic and Islamic eras, and up to the modern era. The highlight of the museum is the Royal Mummies Hall, which houses the mummies of some of Egypt's greatest kings and queens, in a display that combines grandeur with modern technology.

We will start our day with an unforgettable visit to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, the idea for the museum began when the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), at the request of the Egyptian government, announced an international campaign to create the Nubia Museum in Aswan and the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Cairo in 1982. The museum was designed by an Egyptian architect who won an international architectural competition, and the first stone was set in the center of Fustat, Africa's first and oldest Islamic metropolis, in 2002. In 2017, in the presence of former UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova, a temporary exhibition hall on Egyptian craftsmanship through different eras was inaugurated, reflecting four crafts: pottery, woodwork, textiles, and jewelry. All preparations for the other rooms of the museum were completed. The major display hall was graciously launched by His Excellency the President of the Republic, who also received 22 royal mummies in a grand procession from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir in 2021. In 2022, a room dedicated to Egyptian textiles was also unveiled.
We then continued our excursion with a visit to the Egyptian Museum, one of the largest and most famous museums in the world, situated on the north side of Tahrir Square in the center of Cairo, the capital of Egypt. It was then moved with its contents to the second exhibition hall of the Citadel of Salah al-Din until the French Egyptologist Auguste Mariette, who worked at the Louvre Museum, considered establishing a museum in Boulaq, on the banks of the Nile, to display a collection of antiquities. Unlike its predecessors, the Egyptian Museum has more than 180 exhibits, making it one of the earliest museums in the world to be opened to the public. The archaeological treasures discovered in the graves of the Middle Dynasty kings and royal attendants at Dahshur in 1894 are the most significant of the museum's more than 180,000 pieces.
We will ultimately drop you off at your Luxor hotel so you can catch your flight there.

Egypt has always been and now is a civilised Middle Eastern and African nation that welcomes all cultures and beliefs. Even after it was declared an Islamic state, you may still see many different types of universally recognised attire everywhere. Although foreign women are not required to cover their body, head, and hair like the majority of Egyptian women are, they are required to cover their bodies from the shoulders to at least the knees in sacred buildings like synagogues, churches, and mosques.
Men are expected to dress appropriately and refrain from appearing in public wearing anything too short, such as boxer shorts and bicycle shorts. Of course, various types of bathing attire from across the world are permitted on the beaches.
This museum is fantastic, and you should definitely go. The best part is a room with King Tut's tomb, but photography is prohibited. There are so many things to see inside that you could spend three days and still not see everything!
