Today we will enjoy an unforgettable visit to the Pyramids of Giza, which are historical tombs with the names of the kings who were buried in them, they were an integral part of the ancient Egyptian heritage, and have been the center of interest of researchers and debate of historians since their discovery, In addition to being one of the Seven Wonders of the World, they are among the primary tourist destinations in the Arab Republic of Egypt. In Egypt, there are over a hundred historic pyramids, but the most famous and largest are the 3 pyramids “Khufu”, ‘Khafre’ and “Menkaure”, which are located on the Giza plateau, in the province of Giza, on the west bank of the Nile River, just 15 kilometers from the center of Cairo, where the ancient Egyptians believed that the western side symbolizes the world of the dead because the sun sets on it, so they dedicated it to their tombs, and the eastern side symbolizes the world of the living so they built their cities on it.

Your trip will become even more authentic, as you will enjoy a camel ride in the middle of the desert with the Great Pyramids as a backdrop, as travelers used to do in ancient times. It's a perfect moment for photo ops and a sense of desert adventure.

Itinerary

Your expert tour leader will meet you at your Aswan hotel early in the morning and drive you from the Aswan international airport to Cairo. Once you arrive in Cairo, a private, air-conditioned vehicle will transport you to enjoy your day trip of the Giza Pyramid, which includes lunch and a camel ride.

We begin our excursion with a visit to the Pyramids of Giza, the largest of which was built during the reign of Pharaoh Khufu, between 2551 and 2528 BC, On the other hand, the others were built during the reigns of Khafre (2520–2494 BC) and Menkaure (2490–2072).  Many theories have been built about the construction of the pyramids, but Egyptologists confirm that it was the ancient Egyptians who built them from the time of the Old Kingdom, as the pharaohs of Egypt believed that they would become gods after their death. Thus, they constructed enormous pyramidal temples and tombs for themselves that were furnished with everything they would require in the afterlife. Of Egypt's more than a hundred ancient pyramids, the three most well-known and substantial are "Khufu," "Khafre," and "Menkaure," which are located on the west side of the Nile.

One of the three pyramids will also be shown to us from the interior. The largest and most elaborate chamber is the King's Chamber, where the pharaoh's body was interred in a red granite sarcophagus. The Queen's Chamber is less ornate and smaller.

Enjoying a camel ride in the middle of the desert with the Great Pyramids as a backdrop, just like ancient travelers did, will make your trip even more genuine. It's the ideal time for pictures and a feeling of adventure in the desert.

After an impressive day at the Pyramids of Giza we will take you back to Cairo airport for your flight to Aswan and from there to your hotel or cruise ship.

  • The Pyramid of Micherinos (Menqorinos): It is the smallest of the three. It is distinguished by its unique design, which tends to have sharper angles than is usual in pyramids.

The Egyptian Museum includes a large and diverse collection of artifacts that tell the story of ancient Egyptian civilization. In addition, many historical temples and mosques can be visited in Cairo, such as the Muhammad Ali Mosque and the Citadel.

Cairo is also a great place to enjoy shopping and local cuisine. Khan Al Khalil Market and Al Moez Street have a variety of traditional shops, while you can try delicious Egyptian cuisine in local restaurants.

Philae Temple: The reason Philae Temple is special is that it was relocated to Agilika Island during the 1960s to prevent floods brought on by the building of the Aswan High Dam. The temple is reachable by water and is well preserved.
