Cairo Day Trip to Saqqara and Memphis

Overview

We offer one of the best tours you can take while visiting the land of civilization. This day trip will take you to two of the oldest archaeological sites, allowing you to experience the splendor of timeless monuments, the scent of civilization, and the heart of ancient Egyptian history.

We'll start with Saqqara, the birthplace of the first significant stone structure. It's also a part of Menaf's necropolis, which is home to numerous ancient Egyptian structures. Saqqara, which is a part of the Manaf necropolis, is home to numerous ancient Egyptian monuments, including the step pyramid of King Djoser, the oldest monumental stone structure in the history of the Third Dynasty; the pyramids of several Dynasty V and VI kings, including King Unas, who was the first to have pyramid texts inscribed on his burial chamber; kings and high officials from Dynasties I and II; and an extensive collection of tombs belonging to Old Kingdom high officials. It also contains monuments from the Early era, making their way into Middle and New Kingdom people's tombs. Additionally, the region is home to the tomb of the revered calf of Apis (Sarabiyum), which was in use from the 18th Dynasty until the Ptolemaic era. Coptic monuments, like the monastery of Bishop Jeremiah, are also located in the region. The Imhotep Museum, which features a collection of artifacts found at Saqqara, was opened in the region in April 2006.

After that, we travel to Memphis, which in ancient times served as both the seat of government and the cradle of culture and religion. We will be able to view the remains of exquisite statues and historical witnesses that provide light on the lives of those who inhabited Memphis for thousands of years, as it is considered to be one of the greatest capitals of ancient Egypt. It was linked to the unification of Upper Egypt and the Nile Delta under the reign of King Mina. It continued to serve as Egypt's capital during the Old Kingdom and as the center of the military and administration during the New Kingdom.

You will discover more about Egypt's past and visit the ruins south of Cairo on this trip to Memphis and Saqqara with a knowledgeable tour guide. Spend six hours touring sites such as the ruins of Egypt's ancient metropolis.
