Amazing 4 Days-Trip to Siwa Oasis from Cairo

On the morning of the second day of your trip, you will enjoy a delicious breakfast, and then you will start your safari adventure, an unforgettable adventure that takes you to the heart of the desert where wild beauty meets the spirit of adventure. You will set off in four-wheel-drive vehicles to make your way between giant sand dunes in the Great Sea of Sand, a sea without water, but it drowns you in waves of golden sand dunes stretching as far as the eye can see. The sand dances under your feet like silk, and the wind forms amazing shapes as if they were carved for the sake of art alone. At the heart of this sandy sea is the magic of adventure.

Then we will head to Mount Dakrour, which is considered the guardian of the desert and one of its historical symbols. When approaching it, you feel that you are in front of a natural painting carved by the hand of time; its dark rocks are coloured by the golden spectra of the sun at sunset, and it is surrounded by quiet sandy areas that reflect the serenity of the place. The mountain is famous for its “sand burial” season, where the warm heat of the sand immerses the body in an amazing sense of relaxation and healing, while the fresh air coming from the depths of the desert fills your chest with fresh energy.

We continue our journey with a visit to Ain Cleopatra, a circular spring surrounded by palm trees and olive trees, whose crystal-clear turquoise water reflects the blue sky and the tranquillity of nature. The water flows from the depths at a refreshing temperature all year round, providing a refreshing feeling of revitalisation. Legend has it that Queen Cleopatra herself bathed in this spring, adding a touch of royalty to its enchanting serenity.

When evening falls in Siwa, the artificial lights go out, giving way to a magical nightscape where the stars shine unveiled. Around a roaring fire in the heart of the desert, you gather on Bedouin carpets, savouring local delicacies of freshly baked Siwi bread, grilled meat, herb-scented rice, and mint tea prepared over coals. The sounds of tambourines and Siwi heritage songs surround the place, and the human warmth of the moment makes you feel like you are part of a big family under one sky.

Mountain of the Dead: The Mountain of the Dead rises like a silent sentinel, guarding the secrets of thousands of years. From afar, it looks like a quiet mass of rock, but as you get closer, its facade reveals a unique blend of Pharaonic, Ptolemaic, and Roman architecture and faded inscriptions that still tell the stories of kings, nobles, and warriors. The desert breeze blows through the narrow passageways carrying the scent of history, while standing on its summit gives you a panoramic view of the oasis, as if you see a stretch of palm trees and lakes amidst the golden desert.

Shali Castle: Located in the heart of ancient Siwa, this castle stands tall despite the passage of centuries, built of kershef, a unique combination of clay and salt that gives its walls a warm earthy colour. Its narrow alleys and the remains of its houses reflect the life of the people of the oasis, where the castle was their safe haven from invasions and storms. At the top of the castle, you have a mesmerising view of the oasis with all its fields and lakes, a scene that combines the power of fortresses with the tranquillity of nature.

The Temple of Amun-Ra is a place where tradition and history collide, situated on a little knoll in the Agurme area. In this stunning ritual, Alexander the Great was proclaimed the son of the deity Amun, altering the path of history. Although most of the temple is now in ruins, its remaining walls and inscriptions carry a deep spiritual energy, as if you can hear the echoes of the rituals that used to take place there. From the site of the temple, the oasis stretches before you like a green canvas in the middle of the desert, and you realise why this place was sacred for thousands of years.

At the end of the day, we will transfer you back to your accommodation. 

As the sun rises on the last day of our trip to Siwa, our morning will begin with a peaceful breakfast in a charming oasis setting before it's time to say goodbye. We'll make our way back to Cairo via the coastal path, where we'll embrace the blue of the Mediterranean Sea and the golden sands in a mesmerising landscape. We'll also make select rest and photo stops, where we'll capture the last images that preserve the details of this adventure: your smiles, the echoes of laughter, and the road scenery that alternates between the sea and the desert. As evening approaches, you will arrive in Cairo with warm memories and unforgettable moments from one of Egypt's most beautiful oases, leaving Siwa engraved in your hearts before your travel books.
