From any place in Luxor, hotel or Nile cruise, one of Cairo Top Tours representatives will be waiting for you to take you in a modern vehicle to Luxor airport to take your flight to the beautiful capital of Egypt, there you will meet our expert guide who speaks your language perfectly and who will accompany you throughout your day.
The first step of our tour will undoubtedly be one of the seven wonders of the world, where you will explore the entire area of the Pyramids, one of the most important and famous monuments in the world, located on the Giza plateau, west of the Nile River in Egypt, and considered one of the greatest architectural achievements of ancient history. These monuments were built during the Fourth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom in ancient Egypt, between approximately 2600 and 2500 BC. The site also includes the Great Pyramid, the Pyramid of Khafre, the Pyramid of Menkaure, as well as associated complexes and the Great Sphinx.
Next, we'll visit the Egyptian Museum, which was founded in 1835 and housed a variety of antiquities in Azbakeya Park. It later relocated its exhibits to the Citadel of Salah al-Din's second exhibition hall, where they remained until Auguste Mariette, a French Egyptologist who worked at the Louvre Museum, thought of opening a museum in which to exhibit a collection of antiquities on the banks of the Nile, in Bulaq. The Egyptian Museum is one of the first museums in the world to be established as a public museum, unlike the museums that preceded it, the museum includes more than 180,000 artifacts, the most important of which are the archaeological collections found in the tombs of the kings and royal retinue of the Middle Dynasty at Dahshur in 1894, and the museum now includes the largest archaeological collection in the world, expressing all stages of ancient Egyptian history.
We culminate our excursion with a visit to the Citadel of Saladin, also called the Citadel of the Mountain. It is one of the most significant places in Islamic Cairo, is located in the district of the “Citadel,” and was built on a plain that is distinguished from the mountain Mokattam due to its strategic location, which gives it defensive importance because it controls Cairo and Fustat, creating a high natural barrier between the two cities. It is believed to be one of the most lavish military fortresses built in the Middle Ages. We can also go inside the castle to see the Muhammad Ali Mosque, also called the Alabaster Mosque because of the beautiful alabaster paintings on its interior and exterior walls. The mosque was built by Muhammad Ali Pasha between 1830 and 1848. The mosque also houses the mausoleum of Muhammad Ali Pasha.
Your guide will drive you to the Cairo airport so you can continue your journey back to Luxor after this day of discovery.
