We'll transport you to Sharm El Sheikh Airport so you can board a flight to Cairo after picking you up from your Sharm El Sheikh hotel early in the morning. Our expert guide will be waiting to take you on a day trip to enjoy exploring the city that combines history and modern life on an exceptional tour of the most important landmarks of ancient Egypt, where we will visit:
Our first stop today will be the Giza Plateau, where we will explore the three famous pyramids: the Pyramid of Khufu, The Pyramid of Khafre, which is distinguished by the white shell fragments at its peak; the Pyramid of Menkaure, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the largest and most magnificent of the pyramids; and finally, smaller in size but no less impressive than its predecessors. From the center of the plateau, the fabled Sphinx towers above you with its enigmatic face and massive body that exudes power and knowledge, completing the magnificent scene that no other archaeological site in the world can rival. Here, you will feel as if you have travelled back thousands of years, with a wonderful opportunity to take unique souvenir photos or experience a camel ride among the pyramids.
We will continue our journey heading to the heart of Cairo to visit the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir, the oldest and most famous museum of Pharaonic antiquities in the world. In its huge halls, you will find more than 150,000 rare artefacts covering all stages of ancient Egyptian history, ranging from enormous statues of gods and monarchs to royal mummies that can still be identified by their owners' features. The most notable feature of this museum is the golden treasures of King Tutankhamun, which have dazzled the world with their beauty and precision, in addition to jewellery, items that shed light on the inner workings of the Pharaonic royal court, such as burial equipment and war chariots.
Afterwards, we will take a break to enjoy a traditional Egyptian lunch at a local restaurant, where we will sample delicious authentic dishes in a relaxed atmosphere before continuing your tour.
We will then conclude our tour with a visit to Dahshur, considered one of the most important sites of ancient Egyptian architecture. We will visit the Red Pyramid, the first completed pyramid in history, built by King Sneferu, father of Khufu, and known by this name because of the colour of its stones. Then head to the Bent Pyramid, a unique building that reflects the pharaohs' first attempts to master the pyramidal shape, with its upper part leaning at a different angle from the lower part in a truly distinctive view. The peaceful atmosphere of Dahshur, far from the crowds, offers you a different experience, full of awe and contemplation of the genius of the ancients.
At the end of the day, you return to Cairo Airport for your flight back to Sharm El Sheikh.
