Pick-up from Alexandria Port
The adventure begins as soon as you leave Alexandria Port and meet your Egyptologist guide and driver. You will be in a a nice, air-conditioned vehicle and will soon be traveling down the long desert highway, leaving the Mediterranean sea behind as you arrive in Cairo, the place that forms the heart of ancient Egyptian history.
Experience the Timeless Giza Pyramids
Your first destination will be the notorious Giza Plateau, famous around the world for the pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure. Built 4500 years ago, these monuments are still here today, aging nicely and considered one of the great feats of human engineering. You will walk around the base of the pyramids, take pictures of the pyramids, and admire the scale and genius of engineering. Next place the Great Sphinx is calmly keeping an eye on the plateau, constantly looking out over the horizon. Your guide will share amazing stories about the ancient Egyptians, pharaohs, and rituals that bring these structures to life.
Lunch in Cairo
After visit Giza, lunch will be at a local restaurant. Taste some authentic Egyptian food, and enjoy resting before your afternoon turns to exploration.
Abdeen Palace – Cairo's Royal Gem
In the afternoon, your tour will continue your royal splendour by taking you to Abdeen Palace, the magnificent palace built in the 19th century by Khedive Ismail as a royal residence for Egypt's royal family. You will walk through the lavishly decorated halls of the magnificent palace, decorated with elaborate chandeliers and fabulously-painted ceilings that reflect the breathtaking glamour of a long-lost golden age.
Back to Alexandria Port
Following your excursion, as the sun starts to set, you will be comfortably returned to Alexandria Port. By the end of the day, you will have walked through 7,000 years of history and stood at the foot of the pyramids of ancient pharaohs in the morning, and draping historical elegance in the afternoon.
