
Know More About 6th of October panorama
Panorama of the October War was created in cooperation between Egypt and North Korea in 1983 to commemorate and celebrate the anniversary of Egypt's victory in the sixth of October War. It is located in Heliopolis on Salah Salem Street next to Cairo International Stadium. The building is cylindrical in shape, its inner walls are surrounded by paintings and photographs representing the important battles fought by Egypt starting with the battle fought by King Narmer to unite the two countries and passing through the battle in which Ahmose expelled the Hyksos in 1520 BC, the Battle of Mansoura in 1250, the Battle of Port Said in 1956, and finally the October victory in 1973 where the Egyptian army defeated the Israeli army and expelled it from the Sinai territory.
There is a circular platform where the attendees sit and the platform moves with them for the attendees to view three-dimensional mural oil paintings representing the glorious October Battle. The Panorama also has an exhibition hall for watching films showing real scenes of the 1967 war and the 1973 war. At the entrance to the panorama there are planes and tanks used in the war, and those present can climb them and take commemorative photos.
