
History of Ti Tomb Saqqara
Tomb of Ti, one of the employees of the Fifth Egyptian dynasty, in the 24th-25th century BC. The tomb is located in the northern part of the central Saqqara region, about 500m or 1,640 feet northwest of Djoser's pyramid. In the Giza governorate of Cairo, Egypt.
Position
TE was a senior official in the era of the last kings of the fifth Egyptian dynasty. The Tomb of Ti, located in Saqqara, has become one of the most famous archaeological sites in Egypt, due to its writings and inscriptions that depict detailed views of everyday life and funerary landscapes.
Discovery
In 1865, "Auguste Marit discovered the Tomb of T. The entrance to the cemetery leads to a large courtyard with twelve square columns. The reliefs remaining in the courtyard depict the owner of the Tomb T. V. farming landscapes and other scenes from everyday life. In the southern wall there are three openings through which the statue of TI, located in the hidden chamber or crypt, can be seen, and through them the soul and soul mate of the deceased could follow the funeral rituals that were taking place in the cemetery, where Ti could communicate with the world of the living. A copy of this statue is currently located inside the crypt, while the original is in the Egyptian Museum.
