Skydive Egypt, in cooperation with the Egyptian parachuting and air sports federation, is organizing the first international event entitled "Pharaohs Jump—the first part." This event, which started yesterday and continues until next Tuesday, will be held above the Great Pyramids of Giza and include exciting and unique skydiving shows over the last remaining wonder of the ancient world.
The event attracted 65 elite skydivers from the USA, Russia, the Czech Republic, France, Switzerland, Kuwait, Austria, Belgium, Algeria, Dominican Republic, Chile, Canada, Germany, Sweden, Argentina, Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands, and Egypt. They will jump from a Hercules C130 aircraft from a colossal height of 15 thousand feet under the supervision of the world-renowned figure in this field, Hermann Landsman, who takes on the role of jump organizer.
Mustafa Saeed, one of the founders of the event, said: "We are proud and happy to organize this global event in the land of the Pharaohs. The skydive Egypt team spared no effort to ensure that the organization was at an almost perfect level, with attention to the smallest details, and thoughtful planning for each part. We have been careful not to leave anything to chance, for this event to be an interesting and amazing experience for everyone who participates or attends it," he said.
Among the participants will be at least four professional photographers in the air, and two on the ground, to document the moments and produce amazing shots in front of the Great Pyramids. The athletes participating in the event will perform various shows, including free flight, belly flying, relay jumping, high opening, and synchronized jumping, with several aerial maneuvers, before landing safely in an area no more than 100 meters from the pyramid of Khafre.
The founders of the event, Mostafa and Mahmoud Sharaf, expect to organize many subsequent parts in the future. They have devoted themselves for many years to promoting skydiving and raising the level of this sport in Egypt. Their efforts have resulted in dozens of Egyptians entering the world of skydiving, as well as organizing training courses in many other countries, including Morocco, Kenya, Spain, Russia, and Dubai. The event also includes organizing road tours to the most famous tourist sites in Cairo, including Old Cairo and Khan el-Khalili (the oldest market in Egypt), a tour of the Giza pyramids, and the Cairo Museum.
