Tour to Siwa Oasis from Cairo

In the afternoon, visit a local olive oil press and date workshop and see how the Oasis produces its famous organic products. Once you’ve had your organic breakfast at your eco-lodge, experience an adrenaline-filled adventure through the Western Desert, as you kick off your full-day Siwa Desert Safari. Your first stop takes you to the tranquil Abu Ali Village. You will learn all about traditional Siwan farming practices and visit a small archaeological site containing some secret ancient Berber carvings hidden among the rocks. As you continue on your journey out into the Great Sand Sea, you’ll find yourself in an area littered with prehistoric marine shells and fossilized sea beds. A real treat to be reminded that this area was once covered by an ocean millions of years ago.

Next, head for a remote saltwater lagoon hidden in the dunes, which is an ideal venue for bird watching and a serene swim in clean mineral-rich water. The next leg of this tour will be heated up and ramped up with an exhilarating off-road ride from the lagoon over towering dunes to a chosen slope for dune sliding - exhilarating fun with panoramic views of the desert landscape. Your exploration of the desert mist will come to an end with a soak in the warm sulphuric springs of Ain Hamam, where you can soak your tired body in warm, naturally heated water. As the sun sets, sip on Bedouin tea around a small fire the letting the magic and silence that permeates the desert sink into your mind, before heading to your lodge for a well-earned night's sleep.

Have your final organic meal and the calm of a morning in Siwa, nestled amid the oasis's palm trees. Then you will want to walk to a local market for a little bit of shopping. Here, you can look for Siwan silver jewelry, embroidered scarves, and local natural goods like date syrup and desert herbs. This is an excellent opportunity to bring a bit of Siwa home with you. Make a note of any final photos of the oasis landscapes, and then you will be prepared for your departure.

Your driver and guide will take you on an alternate route back to Cairo through the Western Desert to experience another scenic route through Egypt's stark terrain, such a stark and huge part of Egypt. As you drive, you will stop for a lunchtime break at a desert roadside café - stretch your legs and reflect on your adventure. After approximately an 8 to 9-hour drive, you will arrive at your hotel in Cairo with memories of the mystery, beauty, and tranquility of Siwa etched into your memory.
