When you arrive at Sokhna Port, your guide will already be there waiting to show you around on a day full of ancient history and expect local culture. The drive to Cairo is comfortable and smooth, which gives you a chance to relax and perhaps ask your guide a couple of the questions you’ve always wanted to ask about Egypt.
Stop number one: the Pyramids of Giza. There's no comparison to seeing them in person versus what you've seen in pictures. You'll walk between the colossal blocks, look up at the Great Pyramid, and eyeball-to-eyeball with the Sphinx — it's surreal, and even better than you'd imagined.
After immersing ourselves in the wonders of Giza we'll head to lunch at a restaurant that is selected because it is not touristy but real. Think warm bread, fresh ingredients, and real Egyptian hospitality.
And then, the Egyptian Museum. It is a building filled with stories. From ancient mummies to ancient gold, it is where you start linking everything you've seen, heard, or read about Egypt into a coherent historical framework.
To end the day, there’s nothing better than a slow sail on the Nile in a traditional Felucca. No rush. No engine noise.
By the time you're dropped back at the port, you’ll feel like you’ve seen a whole new side of Egypt — one that stays with you.
