Itinerary

After you arrive in Luxor, you will find our representative waiting for you at the airport to take you to your guide to see the Luxor and Karnak temples, where you will see amazing things.

You will start your tour at Karnak is the largest religious complex ever built by man and one of the most significant religious sites in ancient Egypt. It was developed over more than 2,000 years, primarily dedicated to the Theban Triad: Amun, Mut, and Khonsu.

There are a lot of monuments like The Great Hypostyle Hall, one of the most impressive parts of the temple, with 134 massive columns arranged in 16 rows, and also Sacred Lake, Once used for purification rituals by priests, then you can visit the Obelisks of Hatshepsut and Thutmose I: Towering granite monuments that once symbolized the connection between heaven and earth.

Walking through Karnak is like entering a world of divine mystery and monumental scale. The inscriptions on the walls, the towering columns, and the sheer vastness of the site reflect the power and devotion of the New Kingdom pharaohs.

After you visit Karnak, you will visit the second temple, which is the Luxor Temple was built around 1400 BCE, primarily by Amenhotep III and later expanded by Ramesses II. Unlike Karnak, which was mainly a place of worship for priests and gods, Luxor Temple was closely tied to royal rituals and ceremonies—particularly the Opet Festival, when statues of the gods were carried from Karnak to Luxor Temple in a grand procession.

You will visit a lot of great places there, like The Colonnade of Amenhotep III: This is a large row of 14 huge columns, which go into the inner sanctuaries.

Ramesses II The court Ramesses II: The court is surrounded by figures of the king and giant obelisks (one of them is in Paris at the Place de la Concorde).

Roman frescoes and Christian chapels: additions that occurred later, indicating the stratification of the temple.

Mosque of Abu Haggag: This is a still-asked-to-pray mosque above what is left of the ancient temple, indicating how the site continues to be used to worship even more than ten thousand years ago.

You can also try the sound and light in the Karnak temple, where you will see a lot of amazing things with sounds.

Meals included: Lunch, Dinner.

In the early morning, especially at sunrise, you can go for a hot air balloon experience with a wonderful view in the Egyptian sky before you start the second day's visits in Luxor, where you will see different temples and places.

The first day's visits will start after breakfast at the Nile Cruise in one of the most important places that visitors come from all over the world, which is the Valley of the Kings area, which descends between the mountains. Still, it represents an extensive history and impact for many great pharaohs, such as King Tutankhamun, who is considered one of the youngest pharaohs who ruled Egypt and is famous for his treasures and his tomb, which was discovered in the Valley of the Kings.

This king was the inversion of his father, as he contradicted King Akhenaten in unifying the ancient Egyptian gods into one god, so his name was not Tutankhamun like his father Akhenaten, but his name was Tutankhamun to restore the worship of the god Amun-Ra, and this was due to a revolution against his father in the Tel el-Amarna area for several reasons, the most important of which was the transfer of the capital from Thebes.

After visiting this wonderful place, you will go to a more wonderful place, which is the wonderful funeral temple of the great Queen Hatshepsut, during whose reign Egypt lived through the most prosperous and sophisticated period in the history of Egypt, as she was interested in world trade, and although she was a woman, she was interested in the military parts and led the army. She was not a beautiful queen like Nefertiti, but she was great at managing the ancient Egyptian state and built this temple to worship the god Amun. It certainly was and still is one of the most wonderful temples in the history of the pharaohs, which is indispensable in visiting Luxor.

Finally, the day's visits will conclude in Colossi Memnon, where archaeologists believe that these two statues were placed in this way in order to protect the tomb of Amenhotep. As for their name, it is after one of the Greek heroes, who was the ruler of the Kingdom of Ethiopia during the Trojan War, and he participated in the war alongside the Trojans against the Greeks and was killed by Achilles, the famous Greek hero. There are some legends associated with these two statues.

You will be back on the Nile Cruise for lunch and dinner at night before the Nile Cruise sails back to Edfu.

Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The Nile Cruise will arrive in Edfu, so you can visit one of the most famous cities and temples there, all after you finish breakfast, so you can visit the wonderful city of Edfu and its dazzling temple.

The Temple of Horus was constructed during the Ptolemaic era (237–57 BC) in the Ptolemaic Temple of Philae, and it is not merely an edifice of considerable merit. It connotes the persistent conflict between the principles of order and chaos, particularly in the myth of Horus’ revenge against his father’s murderer, Osiris, the nagging god of disorder, Seth. Such a story contains descriptive, dreadful images already carved around the walls of the temple, demonstrating the very beliefs of the ancient Egyptian culture.

The Edfu Temple is one of the spots that a person should never skip visiting when going to see the ancient sites in Egypt. The Nile cruises ferry most of the tourists who arrive at Edfu Temple in less than ten minutes by use of horse cart. The tours include food and drinks, and the activities of the place are mostly explained. Nevertheless, the most magnificent feature of the place is the chance to simply sit and relax with thoughts about the glory that is Egypt.

Then you will visit the temple of Kom Ombo after the Nile cruise sails to this city, and this temple is no less magnificent than the Temple of Edfu.

Today, Kom Ombo may be a sleepy agricultural backwater surrounded by sugar cane fields, but this temple dedicated to the gods Sobek and Haroeris is a reminder of this area's importance in Ancient Egypt due to its prime position along the Nile.

There are many wonderful things to see in this temple, like Kom Ombo's Pylon originally had two gateways, but the left-hand half has completely disappeared, and only the lower parts of the central pillar and the right wing survive.

As you enter, look to the right-hand front wall to see (from left to right) the gods Sobek, Hathor, and Khons; a hieroglyphic text of 52 lines; and a relief of the Roman Emperor Domitian wearing the crowns of Upper Egypt.

Finally, you will go back to the Nile cruise to take your meal before sailing to the last city in your itinerary, which is the city of Aswan.

Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

After the Nile cruise arrives in Aswan, you finish your breakfast, so your guide will take you to visit two places in the wonderful city, whose name is Aswan.

The first place is High Dam, which was completed in 1970, but its conception and construction began during the time of President Gamal Abdel Nasser. The High Dam’s primary objectives were to control the annual Nile floods, provide an adequate supply of water for agriculture, and produce electricity for the growing population and industries in Egypt.

Then you will visit one of the greatest temples in Aswan, the Philae Temple.

This magnificent monument of ancient Egyptian art and spirituality lying on the wonderful island of Agilkia in Egypt is situated in Aswan and is a great place full of devotion. This temple that worships the goddess Isis is definitely a shanty of love, magic and motherhood. Its history and beauty will definitely amaze the visitors forever.

The major components of the Philae Temple were made in the 4th century BCE in the Ptolemaic era, and additional works were developed by the Roman emperors. The temple happened to be a place of worship that attracted multitudes of people both near and far to worship the goddess Isis, who was among the most renowned gods in the Egyptian pantheon.

After this visit, you will go back to the Nile cruise to take your lunch and dinner at night.

Meals included: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

After taking the final breakfast on board the MS Semiramis Nile Cruise, the Top Tours Cairo tour guide will accompany you back to Aswan airport/station, and here will be the end point of our service. We also wish you have a wonderful experience on the Nile cruise of Egypt with Semiramis II Nile, Luxor to Aswan cruise.
