You will be met at Cairo Airport by a representative from our team, who will then take you to Old Cairo and the Citadel.
Upon your arrival at the Citadel, you will enter immediately. Our representative will have the tickets for you to enter the Citadel. You will be able to have a clear view of all of Cairo's ancient sites from the top of the Citadel after taking a stroll within. The Citadel of Saladin is also distinguished by its impregnable walls surrounding the capitals of Islamic Egypt.
The Citadel of Saladin was not spared from historical events, from the Ayyubid era until the end of the Muhammad Ali dynasty. Many sultans were crowned there, and the famous Citadel Massacre took place. From there, forces began to capture Cyprus and other areas, as well as free the Levant from the Crusaders. It also witnessed the fall of the Mamluk state and the control of the Ottoman Caliphate over Egypt, and the rise of the Muhammad Ali dynasty. The Citadel contains rare treasures and artifacts, and many secrets within the Citadel have not been revealed yet.
