Cairo Day Tours begin with an Egyptologist guide meeting you at your hotel or other location in Cairo or Giza and taking you in a private car. King Snefru, the father of King Cheops and owner of the renowned Great Pyramid at the Giza Necropolis, governed both upper and lower Egypt during the Old Kingdom. The tour begins with a visit to Meidum, where you can see the Red Pyramid of King Snefru, one of Egypt's first pyramids.
Next, we visit the oldest and richest site, Saqqara Necropolis, where we will see the first tomb built entirely out of stones by King Djoser with the help of his genius architect, Imhotep. We will also visit the Pyramid of Teti of the 6th dynasty, where the inscriptions of daily life scenes are still well-preserved and retain their original colors.
We continue to the Giza Plateau, where you will stand on the foot of the great pyramid of King Cheops, the tallest building in the world for thousands of years. You will see the three pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mycerinus, along with the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple of King Mycerinus.
After finishing the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel. If booking from the airport, you will be dropped off at Cairo International Airport with an extra charge for Cairo Layover Tours.
