After settling in, your tour leader will confirm your Christmas tours plan for 7 days, schedule your programs, and change those up a bit if needed to suit your convenience.

Welcome Drink upon arrival.

You will be served a fulfilling and enjoyable buffet breakfast in your hotel and then meet your expert Egyptologist guide. You need to start your tourists' exploration at the most visited site with the great Giza Pyramids, the burial sites for 4th Dynasty pharaohs. Having provided you with all the significant background information on Ancient Egyptian history, they arrive at an open view of the Great Pyramid of Khufu (Cheops), which was built some 2500 BC, with additional small queens pyramids clustered around it.

Drive across the plateau to have a close-up view of the three pyraids from outside–Khufus, Khafres and Menkaures. Camel rides can be arranged in the desert for a spectacular view of the photos which are sure to be wonderful (extra charge). Your next stop is the Valley Temple where you will stand next to the great Sphinx that has all the features of a lion but with a human head said to represent King Khafre.

Next, on your 8-hour excursion, day four, depart for Memphis, the first capital of ancient Egypt. You will go and explore the open-air museum featuring wonderful relics, including the colossal Ramses II and the alabaster sphinx. Lunch will be provided at a high-standard local restaurant.

Next, after lunch, head towards the vast necropolis of Saqqara to see the awe-inspiring Step Pyramid of the King Djoser, the first truly monumental stone structure in the world planned by the architect Imhotep. You will also visit the Pyramid of Teti and a richly decorated tomb of a nobleman from the 6th Dynasty, beautiful in its representation of daily life, hunting, and offerings.

Upon the end of your Cairo excursions, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch

After breakfast in Alexandria — the historic city founded by Alexander the Great in 332 BC — you will meet your accredited tour guide to begin a fascinating day exploring one of Egypt's most beautiful Mediterranean cities which is known for its extensive Greco-Roman archaeological sites.

Your tour starts with the impressive Pompey's Pillar which is a towering Roman triumphal column and then proceeds to the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa. These underground tombs which were originally designed for Egyptian nobility have been opened to the public and now display a rare combination of Pharaonic and Roman artistic traditions.

The next stop is the historic Citadel of Qaitbay which was constructed at the exact site where the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria (Pharos) stood as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. From this point visitors can see breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea.

You will then savour a delicious seafood lunch at a high-quality restaurant that provides views of Alexandria's beautiful harbour. After lunch visitors can explore the Bibliotheca Alexandrina which serves as a modern homage to the historic ancient library with its striking contemporary architectural design and important cultural value.

At the end of your Alexandria day tour, you will be taken to your hotel where you will check in for your overnight stay.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch

Your El Alamein tour begins after breakfast when you will visit important World War II battlefields which were fought between Axis and Allied forces. The Military Museum presents historic events which visitors can study, and they should proceed to Alamein Commonwealth Cemetery to pay their respects to the war dead. The tour ends with a visit to the Mediterranean city of Marsa Matrouh, where you will experience traditional Egyptian dining, beach relaxation, and overnight hotel accommodations.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel in Marsa Matrouh, then spend the rest of the day at your leisure to relax, explore the city, or enjoy the beautiful Mediterranean beaches.

Your Cairo city tour starts with your arrival at the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir Square which contains more than 120,000 historic artifacts that display Egypt's extensive history including the famous golden treasures of King Tutankhamun.

The exploration of Old Cairo begins with a visit to the Roman Fortress of Babylon which dates back to the 1st century and then proceeds to the Hanging Church of the Holy Virgin Mary which stands between two towers as a Coptic Orthodox Church. The Abu Serga cavern church and the Ben Ezra Synagogue will be part of your tour. You will return to your hotel after lunch for an overnight stay.

Egypt during Christmas maintains a mild climate where wearing T-shirts and shorts during the day is comfortable. However, it is recommended to bring a light jacket or sweater for the slightly cooler evenings. The average temperatures range from 24 degrees Celsius as the daily high to 14 degrees Celsius as the daily low.

The Pyramids of Giza, the Sphinx, the National Museum of Egypt, and the Valley of Kings All of these sites are in Cairo, but if you want more, I recommend taking a flight to Luxor and Aswan to discover Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, Hatshepsut's Temple (Deir el-Bahari), and more.
