Itinerary

Upon arrival at Cairo International Airport, filled with various signs and helpful directions, a representative from Cairo Top Tours will meet you. After your long flight, you will be transferred to your hotel in a private air-conditioned van, allowing you to relax comfortably. At the hotel, the representative will assist you with check-in and introduce your 12-day detailed tour itinerary, confirming all travel pick-up times.

After having breakfast in Cairo, your tour guide will meet you to begin the day with one of the amazing Cairo day tours. The first stop will be the mighty Pyramids at the Giza Plateau, where you will see the Great Pyramid of Cheops, the only remaining wonder of the ancient world still standing. You will also visit the pyramids of Chephren and Mycerinus, built by the descendants of Cheops and linked to the founders of Egypt's Old Kingdom, along with the 4th Dynasty king Snefru. The visit also includes viewing the Great Sphinx nearby and the Valley Temple, also known as the Mummification Temple. You will then stop briefly at a panoramic viewpoint of the entire Giza Plateau, the perfect place to take memorable photos; optional camel rides around the Great Pyramids are also available.

From there, the journey continues to the Saqqara Necropolis to visit the magnificent Step Pyramid complex. This complex includes the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the first structure ever built entirely from stone. The tour also features the Pyramid of Teti with its remarkable internal chambers, and the colorful Tombs of the Nobles at Saqqara, where well-preserved wall carvings and paintings depict scenes from the everyday life of ancient Egyptians.

The tour then proceeds to Memphis after these site visits. Memphis was the capital during the first dynasty and one of the main religious and cultural centers of the pharaonic kings. Now displayed in the open-air museum at Memphis are the large alabaster sphinx, one of the biggest of its kind in the world, and the gigantic fallen statue of Ramses II. The long day concludes when you return to Cairo for the night.

Check out early in the morning and transfer to Cairo International Airport for your flight to Aswan. Upon arrival, our local representative will meet you at the airport and guide you to your ship. Once aboard, you will be served lunch.

Your Aswan day tours begin with a visit to the impressive High Dam, completed in 1971. Next, you will explore the beautiful Philae Temple, situated on a picturesque island in the Nile. After this visit, the cruise ship will sail to Kom Ombo. During the sailing, enjoy afternoon tea on board and mingle with fellow travelers before visiting the unique temple dedicated to the gods Sobek and Haroeris. The journey then continues to Edfu to explore one of Egypt’s best-preserved temples.

Dinner will be served onboard the cruise ship, followed by an evening of fun, including a disco party.

Start your day with breakfast served on board your luxurious Nile Cruise. You will visit the magnificent Edfu Temple, dedicated to Horus, the god of the sky and guardian of kingship in ancient Egypt, then continue sailing through the lock until you reach Luxor.

Enjoy evening tea, dinner, and later the entertaining Galabeya party.

Start the day with breakfast while cruising the Nile River. Embark on a visit to the West Bank; here, you see the Valley of the Kings, with all the tombs of various dynasties from the New Kingdom, and then the Temple of Deir El Bahari overlooking the Nile and gorgeously laid out on the cliffs.

The tour will then cross to the East Bank of Luxor and visit the magnificent complex of Karnak Temple, dedicated to Amun-Re, god of the sun. Later on, touring the Luxor Temple, with its grand courtyard, huge columns, and granite statues of Ramses the Great, you will be amazed. On your way back, you will stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two gigantic statues of Amenhotep III that stand in the front of the Nile.

Lunch will be an on-board affair, and tea will be served so you can rest and take in the reflections of my Luxor exploits. The night will be positively spent on a cruise through the night to Luxor.

Optional: Take a hot air balloon ride over Luxor.

A decent breakfast would be on the cruise. You will be transferred to Luxor Airport for your flight to Sharm El Sheikh and your Egypt Christmas Tour. When you arrive, check in at your hotel. You might as well simply relax for the rest of the evening.

Enjoy a day of leisure in Sharm El Sheikh today, or for those interested, be part of the optional excursion to Ras Muhammad National Park, a protected area that extends through 480 square kilometers of land and marine habitats, located at the southern end of Sinai, where the tip of the Gulf of Suez meets the Gulf of Aqaba.

Spend leisurely mornings at your own pace, or consider a quad biking tour that departs from the hotel at 2 PM for those who prefer some adventure. The Quad Bike Center is only 15 minutes away from your hotel, where you will receive a short briefing on safety and driving before the thrilling trail ride begins on the sand dunes of the Sinai Desert, all while admiring the stunning scenery. The evening is reserved for relaxation upon returning to the hotel for your overnight stay.

Spend a leisure day in Sharm El Sheikh or choose to tour the Monastery of St. Catherine at the foot of Mount Sinai, where Moses is believed to have received the Ten Commandments. Managed by the Greek Orthodox Church, the monastery features gardens and cypress trees within its walls. Its vast library holds the second largest collection of illuminated manuscripts in the world, after the Vatican. While visiting St. Catherine, you can also see the Burning Bush and explore a collection of antiques, including historic icons, intricately carved doors, beautifully painted walls, and other religious treasures.

Overnight in Sharm El Sheikh.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh before heading to Sharm El Sheikh Airport for your flight back to Cairo. You will spend the night in Cairo.

You will have your first meal at the hotel in Cairo before your guide takes you to explore the city’s main attractions. Begin at the Egyptian Museum, which houses the world’s most extensive collection of Egyptian artifacts, including the famous treasures of Pharaoh Tutankhamun, featured in our Christmas Tours in Egypt.

Next, visit the Citadel of Saladin, home to the majestic Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque. The site offers panoramic views of Cairo’s Islamic district, with historic mosques, towering minarets, and ancient domes that have stood for centuries.

In Coptic Cairo, explore the Roman ruins of Babylon and the Hanging Church, which stands above the ancient towers. See the Church of St. Sergius, where the Holy Family sought refuge, along with the spring they drank from. Conclude the Coptic Cairo tour at the Ben Ezra Synagogue, traditionally believed to be the site where the basket containing baby Moses was found.

After a satisfying lunch, continue to Islamic Cairo by walking through its historic streets and 10th-century city walls. Enjoy tea at Fishawy, Cairo’s oldest café, located in the lively Khan El Khalili bazaar. Overnight stay at your Cairo hotel.
