Alexandria Corniche
Alexandria, Egypt's Corniche is a seaside promenade that stretches around Eastern Harbor. It is one of Alexandria's main thoroughfares for traffic. Formally, the Corniche is called "El Geish Road" east of Mansheya and "26 of July Road" west of it, but these titles are rarely used.
It was created in 1870 by Italian-Egyptian architect Pietro Avoscani.
Starting at the western end is the Citadel of Qaitbay, which was constructed in lieu of the Alexandrian Lighthouse. It ends at Montaza after more than ten miles of travel.
