National Beach Day is an annual event that celebrates the beauty and significance of beaches. It encourages people to enjoy the sun, swim on clear waters, and remember the responsibility of these natural resources. The day also raises awareness about beach cleanliness and environmental concerns among the public. National Beach Day was established in 2014 by Colleen Paige, a pet and family lifestyle expert, conservationist, author, and artist.
Happy National Beach Day
National Beach Day was founded in 2014 by pet and family lifestyle expert, conservationist, author and artist, Colleen Paige, who wanted to celebrate the place where she spent most of her time as a child. One day while enjoying the beach she spotted a young pelican that was trapped and starving because fishing line was tied to its wing and beak, after rescuing this bird she took an oath to set aside a date which would focus on sea mammals and sea birds which have to endure the waste left behind by people on the beaches.
So apart from celebrating how amazing our beaches are and what they have to offer should also encourage us to do our part and clean up after ourselves and others. It is a deeply disturbing fact that thousands of ocean wildlife are killed or injured every minute of the day because of our waste.
Every year, a specific day is devoted to praise the beauty of the beaches and their significance and is called the National Beach Day. The particular season is for basking in the sun, swimming upon sandy clear waters as well as great beaches, and on the other hand, remembering the duty of these natural resources. This day helps in creating awareness regarding beaches, promoting clean-up of the beaches and raising environmental concerns among people.
National Beach Day 2026 land on Saturday, the 30th day of August. This end of the summer celebration is very suitable for going out with loved ones to enjoy the last warm days before the cold season comes in.
Colleen Paige, a specialist in pets and family lifestyles, is the founder of National Beach Day. She proposed this day in 2014 with the aim of urging beach bums to help maintain the upkeep and safety of beaches for the enjoyment of all. Her aim was to create recognition about the significance of beaches in hosting visitors and the need to secure the habitats of animals found in oceans.
