A representative from Cairo Top Tour will pick you up at your hotel to begin your fantastic trekking adventure in Riyam. You'll start by following the marked trails from the Riyam parking area. An old, rusty diesel pipeline serves as a reminder of Oman's history when the country's only power plant was located in Riyam, and diesel was pumped from a ship anchored in Mutrah.
Along the way, you'll encounter well-laid stone slabs used for generations by visitors heading to Mutrah and beyond, aiding them in climbing the final hills before reaching Muscat Gate. During that era, the sea or road was the only means to reach Muscat. Once you reach the highest points of the trail, take a moment to enjoy the incredible views over the coast and the sea. Be cautious on the descent towards the abandoned settlement, as some areas may be slippery. Explore the ancient water cistern and falaj irrigation system that are still visible, then prepare for occasional climbs necessary to cross the wadi leading to Mutrah. After completing your trekking tour in Oman, our guide will safely return you to your hotel.
