Discover the Saint Takla Haymanot Church
The prayers of Anba Teklahimanot Church began in the church, in the presence of His Eminence Athanasius, Bishop of Beni Suef, with a prayer of Thanksgiving and the raising of early incense, and sprinkling of the place with water at about four o'clock in the morning on the day of Michael's memorial (Thursday, 12 June 1685). - June 19, 1969).
The story of the construction of the church
The current location of the church was a villa with a garden and a garage, owned by three brothers (one of whom had chosen it in an accident, and it was called "Takla"). After the incident, one of the brothers was inspired in a dream to hand over the share of the dying brother to the church. He hurried to Abuna Bishoy and told him this dream, who in turn came to see the place (its total area is 14×20).
He presented the subject to Cyril VI, who blessed him and agreed that the church should be in the name of Anba Takla Haymanot, and also agreed to hold the first mass in memory of the venerable Archangel Michael (the patron saint of Anba Takla and his family).
The beginning of prayer in the church
Some simple preparations began, and prayers were opened in the church by His Grace Athanasius, Bishop of Beni Suef, with a prayer of Thanksgiving, and an early incense was raised, The prayer was attended by the recluse Timothy Al-muharraqi (the Patriarchate's Procurator at that time), Bishoy Kamel, the recluse Tadros Yacoub, the recluse Luke Sidaros (from MarGerges Church in Esporting), and the recluse Philemon (pastor of Marmina church in Fleming). Together with the teacher Naeem (the hymn of the St. Margaret's Church in sporting, some arachnites and members of the Christ-loving people.
Prayers continued in this "place" every Wednesday, and it was the Holy recluse Yusuf Habib who bore the brunt of creating Khors in this church, indoctrinating them with church rituals on all occasions. He was also a scholar and researcher; he wrote many books, and he was credited with getting to know the body of Anba Takla and getting the church a part of the Holy Body.
And that's why it's a story worth recording:
Bishop Bishoy asked to expand the church instead of this narrow place, so a church was quickly built in the garden with an area of 34×25 meters. Prayer in it began during the reign of Al-mutnah Al-qammas MENA Ava MENA (The Vicar of the Patriarchate at that time, who later became bishop and abbot of the monastery of Marmina in Marriott).
The baptistery was built after Maximus visited Cyril VI, he was offered the order, and he agreed to it (and it was on Tuesday, one week before his beatification).
It was not a week until one of the fathers brought the bishops to pray in the church, and this was noticeable to everyone.
Expansion and inauguration of the church
Meanwhile, efforts were made to obtain permission to build the church on the upper floor. This was done on Saturday, January 17, 1987 (corresponding to 8 bricks 1704h.), With the blessing of His Holiness Pope Shenouda III, who inaugurated the church.
All the images and icons of the church were painted by the artist Isaac Lantern.
On Sunday, July 15, 2007, patriarch Paul of Ethiopia visited the Church of Anba Takla Haymanot as part of his visit to some Coptic institutions in Egypt. This historic visit to Egypt marks the beginning of the restoration of the relationship between the Coptic Orthodox Church and the Church of Ethiopia.
