We start our tour by visiting the pyramids. We will take you to the Giza Pyramids after meeting you outside your hotel in the morning. The Pyramid of His Majesty King Khufu will be your first sight. Khufu decided to relocate north to Giza for his own memorial monument after his father and predecessor, Snefru (2575–2551), had decided to erect his pyramids at Dahshur, on the southernmost portion of the Memphite necropolis. Three pyramid complexes would be built on this location, the first of which would be this one.
Then we move to the pyramid of Khafre. Theories about these events remain, to this day, pure speculation. Practical or religious considerations may have been factors. Khafre built his pyramid northwest of his father's. The diagonal of Khufu's pyramid is nearly exactly maintained by his own.
The Pyramid of Menkaure is one of our two stops in the Giza region. You will see the pyramid and also learn about this king and the different policies he followed. Afterwards, we'll enjoy the stories and legends of the Sphinx...Finally, we'll head to a local restaurant for a delicious Egyptian meal, after which we'll continue our journey to Dahshur.
Your air-conditioned car will pick you up and drive you to Memphis. According to Manetho, it was founded around 3050/3040 by King Narmer/Menes. This idea is supported by the fact that the oldest known tombs were built during this period, but the site was inhabited well before the reign of this king.
Our final stop will be the Meidum Pyramid before you head back to the hotel. A pyramid at Meidum, 80 kilometers south of Memphis... It is not included in the Memphite necropolis, which stretches from Abu Raouash to Dahshur, because of its isolated location.
