In the morning, you will be transferred from your hotel for a tour of Abdeen Palace. Enjoy a trip to Abdeen Palace, one of the presidential palaces that represents an important historical symbol, spanning from the royal era through modern Cairo to the present day... The palace consists of two floors, with the upper floor housing the Salamlek wing, designated for receptions, celebrations, and official meetings.
Abdeen Palace was dubbed the jewel of the 19th century, as it witnessed many events that helped establish the independent Republic of Egypt. It was built in 1863, and from that time until the 1952 revolution, that is, for a period of 90 years, the palace witnessed many busy social and political events. History states that in 1867, the then-French Emperor Napoleon III invited Khedive Ismail to attend the Universal Exhibition held at the time in the French capital, Paris, on behalf of Egypt.
Khedive Ismail received Baron Haussmann, the head planner of the development and reconstruction of Paris, and took him on excursions and tours around the European city, where there were spacious streets, parks, landscaped gardens, and new buildings in various styles. Khedive Ismail then realized that his capital had to keep pace with other capitals in development and progress, according to what was stated on the website of the Presidency of the Republic.
Enjoy a visit to the Military Museum, which features a hall dedicated to weapons gifted to President Hosni Mubarak during his international tours and various national occasions.
During our visit, we won't miss the Silver Museum. The silverware on display is among the most important and diverse exhibits in the Abdeen Palace museums. It comprises utensils, vessels, and artifacts used for eating and drinking, as well as at parties and banquets held on various special occasions by the kings and princes of the Muhammad Ali dynasty. Enjoy visiting more of the palace's annexes. Finally, you will be transferred back to your hotel.
