Proceed with a drive to Coptic Cairo, and you will find the old Roman fortress called Babylon, the Hanging Church, which sits atop old towers, as well as the Church of St. Sergius, which sits above the crypt where the Holy Family is said to have taken refuge. Do not miss the opportunity to explore the Ben Ezra Synagogue, which is alleged to be the courtyard where Moses was found by the Pharaoh's daughter.
An examination of Medieval Cairo around lunchtime will feature the city's mixed collection of walls and gates, originally built by Fatimid leader Badr Al Gamali. Stand amazed as you limp around narrow streets alive with stores originally from the 10th century. Pulling your day to a close, you halt for mint tea at Al-Fishawy, a coffeehouse dating back to the times of Khan El Khalili Bazaar.
