Christmas vacation to Cairo and Luxor

After enjoying your first breakfast at your Cairo hotel, meet the certified Egyptologist guide from Cairo Top Tours and head to the Giza Plateau to visit the Great Pyramid of King Cheops, which is the only monument among the seven wonders of the ancient world that is still largely intact. You will also see the pyramids of Chephren and Mycerinus, the renowned Sphinx, and the Temple of the Valley in front of the enormous statue. Our tour of the plateau includes a panoramic tour to see all the pyramids of Giza together and capture some delicate pictures.

After that, we'll transport you to Saqqara to see the Djoser Pyramid, the world's first all-stone structure, and the Step Pyramid complex. The tour includes the entrance to the Teti pyramid, which has the most spectacular interior of any accessible pyramid, as well as the nobles' tombs in Saqqara, where visitors can see the remnants of ancient Egyptian daily life, with all of their activities preserved in paintings and inscriptions on the walls and passageways of these 4,000-year-old tombs.

After lunch, you will travel to Memphis, the capital of the pharaohs for a millennium and a significant religious and cultural hub throughout the three millennia of ancient Egyptian civilization. There, you will visit an outdoor museum renowned for housing the second-largest, alabaster sphinx in the world, which is carved from an 80-ton block of marble, and the massive, fallen statue of Ramses. Return to your lodging and spend the night in Cairo.

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, you will travel to the Cairo airport at around three in the morning to catch your flight to Luxor. When you get to Luxor, you will be greeted and given assistance by a representative from Cairo Top excursions. After that, your excursions will begin to the West Bank, where you will see the Valley of the Kings, the Colossi of Memnon, and the Temple of Deir El Bahari, also known as the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. After that, our guide will take you to the Karnak temple complex to begin your tour on the East Bank of Luxor. 

We will check in late, have some downtime, and then visit the Luxor Temple, where the ambiance created by the night lights inside the ancient temple is quite unique. Once your day's excursions of Luxor are complete, return to your hotel for the night in Luxor after seeing the Luxor Temple to view its court and the granite sculptures of Ramses II at around 9:00 p.m.

The Egyptian Museum houses the world's biggest collection of Egyptian artifacts as well as the Golden Pharaoh's treasures, the only royal treasure discovered undamaged. Following that, you will be taken by your own driver and guide to see Saladin's Citadel, which includes Mohamed Ali's alabaster mosque. While there, you will be able to take in a broad overview of Islamic Cairo, which is home to mosques, minarets, and domes that are hundreds or even millennia old.

After having lunch at a fantastic restaurant, travel to Coptic Cairo to see the ancient Roman fortress of Babylon, the Hanging Church, which is suspended above its historic bastions, the church of St. Sergius, which has a crypt where the holy family spent almost three months, and the spring that provided them with water. We will also visit the Ben Ezra Synagogue, which is purported to be the location of the pharaoh's palace where Moses' basket was taken from the Nile.

You then drive on to Islamic Cairo, where you will visit the old bazaar known as Khan El Khalili and spend some time interacting with the locals.
