3 days trip to White Desert, Baharyia Oasis, and Fayoum

Before heading to Bahariya Oasis, you'll eat breakfast in the desert. You'll stop at Crystal Mountain, also referred to as Gebel al-Izzaz locally, on the way back. After breakfast, you will be picked up by our tour guide from the Bahariya hotel in Fayoum and driven to Lake Qarun in a private, air-conditioned car as you watch the city change into orchards and lush fields. Learn about some of the magnificent creatures that live along the border of this saltwater lake, including flamingos, ibis, and black-necked grebes. Visit the neighborhood museum to see stunning examples of Fayoum's cloth panel paintings and mummy portraits with a strong Greco-Roman influence. As you tour the museum with your tour guide, discover more about the neighborhood's history and culture. Don't forget to check out the magnificent collection of statues from nearby ancient ruins.

Be informed that these waterfalls were made with extra agricultural water before traveling to Wadi El-Rayan to observe the man-made waterfalls in the middle of the desert. In the unlikely event that the Wadi Rayan waterfalls are blocked due to unforeseen circumstances, a trip to the Fayoum water wheels will be taken. Stop at a local restaurant for a noon lunch prepared in the style of Egypt. Then embark on a charming cruise on a felucca, a chic wooden sailing vessel with a gaff rig. The day is concluded with transportation back to your Cairo lodging.
