Then you will be taken to the next site, the Citadel of Qaitbay, built in 1477 by the Mamluk King Qaitbay to protect the Egyptian borders from the Ottoman threat. The citadel occupies the same site as the old Alexandria lighthouse.
Enjoy your seafood lunch made with the freshest ingredients, or you can choose other options like chicken or a mixed grill. Your guide will take you to visit the famous library of Alexandria, which was built after an international design competition to correspond with the glory and fame of the ancient one. Today, the library stands like the sun of knowledge rising from the Mediterranean and helps scientists and scholars from all around the globe.
After enjoying the sightseeing, our certified Egyptologist guide will accompany you on a walking tour of the streets of Alexandria and the Corniche
Then he will take you back to Alexandria port, and he will drop you off inside the port by the cruise ship exit door, as usual in all of our Alexandria shore excursion tours.
