In the morning, we drive two hours from Amman to Gadara (Umm Qais), which used to belong to the famous Decapolis, a confederation of 10 cities, founded by Alexander the Great. We head to Jerash, located in the foothills of Mount Gilead, an ancient city reminiscent of the Roman Empire.
