Your private shore excursion will start with a drive to Alexandria National Museum from Alexandria Port with one of our professional tour guides. Your tour will be enriched by visits to important historical sites in Alexandria, and you'll have plenty of time to explore History of Egypt on your own.
First, you will visit The old Al-Saad Bassili Palace, which is from 1923 and houses a museum that tells the history of the people of Alexandria through antiquity, Middle Ages, and the Modern Period.
The beauty of ancient Alexandria has been recently restored thanks to underwater excavations. These excavations have uncovered a wealth of artifacts from antiquity, many of which are now on display in the city.
The Pharaonic collection spans a range of important periods and includes items from the Old, Middle, and New Kingdoms. One of the highlights is a replica of a tomb from the Valley of the Kings on the West Bank at Luxor (ancient Thebes), which includes a mummy along with genuine funerary items.
The last floor of the museum features a wide range of objects from Egypt's two most prominent religious traditions, as well as a section devoted to the former royal family of Egypt. This floor is sure to interest visitors of all interests and backgrounds.
After your visit to the museum, your tour will continue with a drive along the beautiful Mediterranean coast to the Montazah Palace Gardens, which feature 115 acres of lush gardens surrounded by impressive walls on three sides. Within its walls, you will see the exquisite exterior of the Montaza Palace, which was built in 1932 by King Fouad and inherited by his son King Farouk. As you drive through the gardens, photo stops will be made along the way.
At the end of your tour, we will take you back to the port of Alexandria where you can catch your ship.
