Having had breakfast, your English-speaking guide, as well as your other colleagues, will drive you to the airport, Cairo International Airport, to take your domestic flight to Luxor, formerly known as Thebes, the spiritual capital of Ancient Egypt and full of treasures of the New Kingdom epoch. Luxor is referred to frequently as the greatest open-air museum in the world, and it thrills in its pharaonic past.
The start of your Luxor Day Tour is the Luxor Temple, a magnificent construction that was mainly constructed by Amenhotep III. Contrary to numerous temples dedicated to gods only, Luxor Temple was utilised in the major celebration of the Opet Festival, which connected the king to the divine. This temple was very crucial in the reinstitution of the authority of the pharaoh as a god among mortals.
Then proceed to the Karnak Temple complex, a huge sacred precinct built by the layers of over 30 pharaohs during several centuries. In opposition to constructing Karnak only by King Amenhotep IV steadfastly, the building was shaped by other rulers, including Thutmose III, Hatshepsut, and Seti I. The site was a temple and also an enormous political as well as religious centre. Its Sacred Lake and its high pylons express the value of his ritual purification and procession in the ancient religions.
Once you wind up your tour, you will get back to your Luxor hotel to check in and rest for the night.
Meals: Lunch, Breakfast
On the 6th day of your tour, start your journey in the exploration of the West Bank of Luxor, which is one of the richest archaeological zones in the world. At breakfast, your Egypt Nile Cruise experience is then met via a visit to the Valley of Kings, which is the royal cemetery of the New Kingdom elite. This huge necropolis accommodates more than 60 tombs, some of which are beautifully adorned with colourful hieroglyphs and symbolic scenes that took pharaohs through the afterlife. It is common to assume that these tombs were created not only to bury a person but also to transform spiritually.
Then you will be taken to the Temple of Medinet Habu, which was constructed in honour of Ramses III, who was one of the last warrior kings. Medinet Habu is not considered one of the most popular temples and often shares the background with other temples, but the reliefs representing military conquest, rituals, and everyday activities are incredibly well preserved. Unlike what people may think, the temple was built in Thebes rather than Abydos and consequently served as a mortuary temple and a royal palace.
Finish your day off with a visit to the massive Colossi of Memnon, the two seated figures of Amenhotep III who guard the entrance to an otherwise destroyed mortuary temple. Swarnestone, or these patchwork and earthquake-broken monsters, about 18 meters high, still have majesty in the ruins and are still heard to sing in antiquity by dint of the morning dew and the breaks in the rock.
The tour shall end, after which you shall head to your Luxor hotel, where you shall spend the night.
Food: Breakfast, Lunch
Breakfast will be followed at 8 am by your complete day visit of the high points of Aswan, one of the most attractive cities in Egypt.
A tour to the Aswan High Dam is a good place to begin, which is a recent engineering masterpiece built in the 1960s in order to regulate the Nile floods and provide energy by utilising hydroelectric power. The dam formed one of the greatest artificial lakes globally, namely Lake Nasser, which greatly transformed the landscape and the economy of the area.
Then proceed through the Unfinished Obelisk that is situated in a granite quarry. It is thought that this enormous monument was commissioned whilst Queen Hatshepsut was on the throne, and had it been finished, it would have been the largest obelisk ever built. The stone cracks divulge the ancient quarry method of search and the reason that is why the project was aborted.
Lastly, see the beautiful temple of Philae, which is located on Philae Island, although it was moved to Agilkia Island to conserve it against the flooding waters. The whole temple complex is devoted to the goddess Isis herself, and the peaceful location of a temple in the very middle of a river makes it one of the most gorgeous temples in Egypt. You will visit its colonnades, reliefs, and chapels of Pharaonic and Greco-Roman architecture combinations.
Pay your watchers and move back to your hotel, where you will spend the night in Aswan after your tour.
Meal: Breakfast, Lunch
Your day starts at breakfast, after which you will begin your full-day trip to the main attractions in Aswan, one of the most beautiful cities in Egypt.
Your tour starts with the Aswan High Dam, which is a modern-day miracle of engineering that was built in the 1960s to regulate the flooding of the Nile and produce hydroelectricity. Lake Nasser is one of the largest man-made lakes in the world that was formed through a dam, which to a large extent transformed the surrounding landscape and economy.
Then, move to the location of the Unfinished Obelisk, which is located in one of the granite quarries. This huge monument was believed to have been commissioned during the reign of Hatshepsut, the queen, so it would have been the largest obelisk ever to have been erected but was left incomplete. complete. What the cracks in the stone indicate is the ancientness of the methods in quarrying and the abandonment of this project.
Lastly, you can also tour the magical Philae Temple that wass originally located on Philae Island but was moved to Agilkia Island in the the Nile to save it frome increasing waters. The goddess Isis is the name bestowed on the temple complex,, and the calm atmosphere of the place on the river makes it one of the most beautiful temples in Egypt. You will see its colonnades, reliefs,, and chapels showing an interesting mixture between Pharaonic and Greco-Roman architecture.
Back to the hotel after your tour to spend one night in Aswan.
Food: Brunch, Lunch
Following your breakfast, you will check out and start your fantastic trip to the Abu Simbel Temples, which are some of the most amazing monuments in southern Egypt. These huge rock-cut temples were constructed by King Ramses II and hewn in a clifftop of sandstone overlooking the Nile.
The Great Temple is flanked by four giant seated figures of Ramses II, and it is oriented in a way that sunlight passes into the inner sanctuary twice per year at sunset, which is a brilliant act of ancient architecture and alignment. On the inside, there are sophisticated wall reliefs displaying the war achievements of the king and his worship of gods.
Besides, it is the small temple dedicated to the beloved wife of Ramses II—Queen Nefertari. Nefertari is shown here as tall as Ramses, unlike in other temples where queens are smaller in height as compared to the king: a special honour and equality shown by the ancient Egyptian artists.
After your tour, you will be transferred to Aswan Airport so that you can fly back to Cairo, where you will be received and checked in to your hotel in Cairo to spend the night.
