We will pick you up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza to start your journey by driving to Bahariya Oasis in the morning. You will be transferred by an air-conditioned comfortable car by our local Bedouin tour guide who will take you through the beautiful fresh greenery of the oasis.
The first place that you will visit is the famous Valley of the Golden Mummies and here ten stunning royal mummies were unearthed, showing the historical way of the people’s burial. After that, go to the Tombs of the Nobles – the social and architectural structure that testifies about the richness and power of the oasis owners. Some of the most distinctive are the Tomb of Zed-Amun-Ef-Ankh and the Tomb of Bannentiu–the latter was enlarged for collective burial as the habitual burial in individual tombs was infeasible in the context of that period.
You will visit the Temple of Alexander, which was built to celebrate Alexander the Great’s short stop in Bahariya while on his way to Siwa Oasis. The last stop of the tour is at Temple of Ain El-Mefetla from the 26th Dynasty However recent excavation in the nineties revealed four other chapels behind the wall at this site extending the history of this temple even further.
