10-Day Morocco Tour Itinerary: Casablanca, Imperial Cities & Merzouga Desert

After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of Rabat, the capital city of Morocco.

After your guided tour you can have free time in the souks & bazaars in the old medina you can find leather, Moroccan bags, Berber and antique jewelry.

Afterwards have an enjoyable stay in Caf Maure on the river Bouregreg for a chance to enjoy some optional Moroccan mint tea with Moroccan sweets like Kaab Ghazal and Ghariba.

In the afternoon you will leave Rabat to drive towards Chefchaouen.

Overnight in Chefchaouen

Local Experience: Café Maure overlooking Bouregreg River.

After your breakfast you will start your tour visiting Kasbah Ali Ben Rachid and Plaza Uta el-Hammam in Chefchaouen.

Then you will proceed to Fes the "Capital of Science and knowledge". En route you will be stopping at Volubilis an archaeological site registered by UNESCO as a world heritage. It is a place where Roman and Berber cultures flourished. Later you will proceed to Meknes, one of the undiscovered Imperial cities. This city was built by Moulay Ismail and is intended to be a Moroccan Versailles.

Continue to Fez for overnight stay.
Meals: Breakfast

After breakfast, start a guided tour of Fez Medina, UNESCO World Heritage.

Visit Bou-Inania and Attarine Medersa, traditional tanneries, Ess-Seffarine Square, Moulay Idriss tomb, El-Nejjarine Square cabinet makers' souk, the Mellah (Jewish quarter).

Attend a pottery workshop with a craftsman.

Lunch at a local restaurant, then free time.

After breakfast, we will start our travel to Erfoud in the middle of Morocco, passing through Ifran and Midelt cities. Erfoud city is known for its rich of fossils that fascinate most of archaeologists and it's the access to marvelous Moroccan Sahara desert.

On arrival to Erfoud, we will drive our 4 wheels cars through an adventure across endless and desert sand dunes to discover its amazing landscapes and to enjoy seeing the sunset while crossing toward the camp at Merzouga.

You will spend a night in Merzouga, where you will live an unforgettable experience in the desert; breakfast and dinner will be served in the desert camp as it’s an original experience of local accommodation.

In the morning wake up early to see the beautiful sunrise over the dunes of Merzouga. You'll be able to ride a camel in the desert and get on the sand dunes, a magical moment you won't forget. Once you finish enjoying the sunrise, you will take your trip for today with an English speaking driver, from Erfoud to Ouarzazate. During your trip, we will take a little break and we will have the chance to see the Todra Gorge (which lies to SW of Tinerhir and is about 110 km (65 miles) south of Ouarzazate. This is a fantastic natural spot where you will be able to make very nice pictures.

Continuing our drive, we will stop one more time at Skoura which is one of the most beautiful oases of Morocco. As you are on the road, you will only be able to see a thin and long oasis, once you are allowed to take a trip inside this amazing oasis, you'll see how big and impressive it is.

At the end of the day, we will arrive in Ouarzazate, where you will spend the night. 

Following an enjoyable breakfast you will meet your guide driver at the front of the hotel and begin an exciting day of adventure.

Today you will experience a wonderful opportunity of a visit to the Atlas Studios the location of some of the world's favorite films and television series including; The Mummy, Gladiator, Asterix & Obelix and the epic, Game of Thrones. A chance to step into a world of movies and enjoy the reality of their creation.

During your travels to the Atlas Studios you will enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Tizi n'Tichka mountain pass and explore the UNESCO World Heritage Centre of Ait Ben Haddou.

Arriving in Marrakech you will have free time to enjoy the sights or relax in your hotel, whichever suits you best.

After a pleasant breakfast, you will meet your experienced local guide and driver for a city tour of this fascinating "Ochre City".

The Majorelle Garden, which was created by a French painter Jacques Majorelle, is our first visited site in the morning. Then Menara Gardens. Although "lighthouse" in Arabic, the Menara consists actually of a pavilion surrounded by a pool and a beautiful garden composed of orchards and olive trees.Enjoy the peaceful charm of this tranquil haven.

We will then admire the celebrated Koutoubia Mosque, before exploring the Jewish quarter, also known as the Mallah where you may enjoy an authentic local ambiance.

Following lunch at a local restaurant nearby, you will take a romantic horse carriage ride, also called a Koutchi, up to Jemaa El Fnaa.

You will spent the night in Marrakech.

Begin the day with breakfast at your hotel and drive to Casablanca. There, meet your local guide for a visit of the magnificent Hassan II Mosque which lies by the Atlantic coast.

Then, tour the city and its main attractions, among which the lovely corniche, the Habous district and the external viewing of the Royal Palace.

You will spend the night in Casablanca.

Enjoy a free morning at your hotel before transferring to Casablanca Airport for your departure flight.
