Famous Empty Quarter Tours from Riyadh
Rub al Khali is a big desert made of sand. It is the biggest one on Earth! It covers a lot of land in the southern part of the Arabian Peninsula and is in countries like Oman, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Yemen. A long time ago, an explorer named Bertram Thomas went on an adventure in this desert. You can go on a fun trip in a special type of car called a 4x4. You can even camp outside under the stars and watch the sun come up over the big dunes. The Arabic name Rub al Khali means “empty quarter” because it is a very big desert with lots of sand. It has been hard for people to travel through it for a long time because it is so big and difficult to survive in.

On the first day, you will go from Riyadh to Dammam by flying on an airplane. Your tour leader or driver will be waiting for you at the airport with a sign that has your name on it. You don't have to search for them, they will find you. They will pick you up from your hotel in Riyadh and take you to the airport. We will arrive at our first campsite and drive there. We will stay there for the night and sleep in a tent.

Today we are going to visit a place called the Empty Quarter. In the morning, we will have breakfast and then go for a drive to a place called Empty Quarter. It is a big desert with lots of high and red dunes. It is so big that it takes up a big part of a special place called the Arabian Peninsula. The desert is about 65,000 square kilometers and stretches from Oman to Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and the United Arab Emirates. The dunes there are tall, some reaching up to 300 meters! After exploring the desert, we will take a break and rest in Iraq Bani Mareth. At night, we will have a special experience of sitting around a fire, drinking Arabic coffee, and watching the stars in the sky.
We will even stay overnight in a camp in the desert.

On the third day, we visited a dry lake bed in Riyadh. Keep driving through the flat, sandy desert until you reach the dry lake bed. You will get to camp and have fun there. You can also collect colorful stones at the dry lake bed. After that, drive 200km to the EQ exit through soft dunes. Stop at a gas station for a break and some snacks. Vacations are a chance to have lots of fun and do cool things. You don't need to bring a bunch of stuff to have a good time. There are plenty of fun things to do on vacation that don't require a lot of stuff.
