Bigeh is an island and archaeological site in the southern Egyptian governorate of Aswan, located along the Nile River in historic Nubia. Since the dam's original completion in 1902, the island has been located within its reservoir, the Old Aswan Dam.

Bigeh Island was an Egyptian sacred ground. They thought that the island held Osiris's tomb, and the temple that stood there was called Abaton, which translates to "untrodden place" in Greek because only priests were permitted to enter. Seneca and Lucan both mentioned the temple.

It is one of the world Heritage sites, located close to Philae and Agilikia islands in the middle of ancient archaeological sites, the temple found there was named Abaton, Greek for "untrodden place" because only clergy were allowed to put foot there. and also the temple was referred to as Seneca and Lucan.
