The largest building ever built in human history, the Karnak Temple Complex, can be found on the East Bank of Luxor, which you will explore in the afternoon.

The Unfinished Obelisk, a magnificent site in Aswan formed of red granite and dedicated to the god Amun Ra, will be the last place you are taken. Then, as you go by motorboat along the Nile River, enjoy the scenery as you approach Agilika Island. Here, you will explore the Temple of Philae, an ancient structure constructed during the Gaeco-Roman era and dedicated to the goddess Isis (mother of god Horus).

Your English-speaking tour guide will meet you in Aswan and drive you in a private air-conditioned van to Abu Simbel, which is located 180 miles south of the First Cataract in what was Nubia and south of Aswan on the western bank of the Nile.
Prior to the 18th Dynasty, when Ay and Horemheb had rock-cut chapels carved out on the hills to the south, the location was known as Meha.
Upon arrival, you will move on to see the Abu Simbel Temples, the largest of which is known as the Great Temple and was constructed by the renowned pharaoh Ramses II.
