The City of Cairo has a full network of subways that run through most of the city.
The tour starts by taking a metro ride from the nearest point to your place and visiting the city’s most famous landmarks from the Subway with a different view to see the daily life of the Egyptians and explore some of Cairo's major sites, starting from the Citadel, which is one of the oldest and most important parts of Cairo. The Citadel was built on top of a natural hill that overlooks the city, and it was used as a military base for many centuries.
After visiting the Citadel, you will go to Khan El Khalili Bazaar, which is one of the oldest and most famous markets in Egypt. The bazaar stretches over an area of 60,000 square meters and it contains more than 4000 shops selling everything from clothes and jewelry to spices, food, and souvenirs.
After exploring Khan El Khalili Bazaar, we will visit Mohamed Ali Mosque. This is one of three mosques in Cairo that are open for visitors; it was built between 1820 and 1848 by Khedive Ismail Pasha (the ruler of Egypt at that time). It is considered one of the largest mosques in the world with a capacity of 25000 people; its minaret stands 150 feet high. The mosque also includes an Islamic museum with exhibits on different aspects
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, where we'll have a chance to chat about what you've seen so far and what's coming next on our tour. After that, you ride the metro with a private guide and go down to the nearest area to your hotel, then a car to reach the hotel.
