Egyptian Civilization National Museum, which comprises all manifestations of the richness and diversity that Egyptian civilization has had in various ages, is one of the largest international museums as well as the only one of its type in Egypt, the Middle East, and Africa. It will contain rare antiquities on its flanks from prehistoric times until now and is scheduled to open in the Museum of Civilization after the transfer of royal mummies from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir.
One of the highlights of the NMEC is the Royal Mummies Hall, which houses the mummified remains of several ancient Egyptian pharaohs and queens, including Ramses II and Hatshepsut.

Founded by Alexander the Great in 332 B.C., Alexandria was once the capital city of Egypt for almost 1000 years until the Arab conquest in the 7th century.
Your tour will begin with a visit to the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, which were originally a private tomb for a wealthy Romanized Egyptian family but later expanded to become a burial site for the common people of Alexandria. You'll then head to Pompey's Pillar, the tallest standing pillar in Egypt, built by the people of Alexandria in honor of the Roman Emperor Diocletian.
Next, you'll enjoy views of the Mediterranean Sea before visiting the Citadel of Qaitbay, established in 1477 on the site where the legendary Pharos lighthouse once stood. After lunch at a nearby restaurant, you'll continue your tour with visits to the Alexandria Library and the Abu Al-Abbas Al-Mursi Mosque.
