Cairo is Egypt's capital city, and it's full of historic landmarks and interesting museums. There's plenty to see and do in Cairo, so you'll want to allow yourself a few days to explore everything the city has to offer. If you're interested in ancient Egyptian history, the Pyramids of Giza are a must-see – they're some of the most famous monuments in the world!
Alexandria is another popular destination for tourists visiting Egypt. The city is located on the Mediterranean Sea, so there are plenty of beaches to relax on if that's what you're looking for. Alexandria is also home to many historical sites like Pompey's Pillar – a huge column erected in honor of Roman Emperor Diocletian – and the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, one of the largest libraries in Africa with over 8 million books!
Our tour guide will pick you up in a modern car with air conditioning from your accommodation in Sharm El Sheikh. Driving to Sharm airport there will allow you to catch the domestic flight to Cairo. When you arrive at Cairo airport, our tour leader will be there to meet you in the arrivals area and accompany you on the tour.
You start by going to the Egyptian museum to see the youthful king Tut Anch Amun's riches. The excursion next moves on to the Pyramids of Giza (Cheops, Chephren, Mykerinus) and the great sphinx. After that, you'll be taken to your hotel in Cairo, where you'll spend the night.
Continue the second part of the tour after breakfast. Our tour leader will pick you up at the hotel. The three-hour trip to Alexandria will take you to some of the city's most well-known attractions.
Start by going to the Qaitbay Citadel, which Sultan Qaitbay constructed at the historic lighthouse in Alexandria in the 15th century. Then gaze in awe at the exquisite Montazah Palace, a marriage of Florentine and Turkish architecture. You will next go to the recently constructed and well-regarded Library of Alexandria. The catacomb, a Roman cemetery carved out of rock, is the last stop on your journey. You will then be taken by car to the airport where you may board your aircraft back to Sharm el Sheikh.
