On this unusual day tour from Safaga Port, you will be picked up by our representative who will take you by a private vehicle to Luxor. There, you will meet your private expert tour guide and begin an unforgettable Egypt shore excursion. The first stop in your Luxor day tour will be Luxor Temple.
What makes Luxor Temple unique is that it was not built in adoration of a god or a divine king. Instead, it was dedicated to the rejuvenation of kingship, a concept central to ancient Egyptian belief. After exploring this majestic site, you will continue your journey to the famous Valley of the Kings and Queens, one of the most iconic highlights of any Egypt tour. This valley served as the burial place for many kings and queens, designed to protect their tombs and treasures from ancient robbers.
Next, you will visit an unusual but fascinating site — Dra' Abu el-Naga, dating back to the 17th Pharaonic Dynasty, where the cartouches of King Thutmose I, one of the most important Pharaohs, were discovered.
You will then move on to Madinet Habu Temple. Some believe the name “Habu” refers to a nearby city in Luxor, while others say it’s named after a Christian monk. Interestingly, part of the temple was used as a church when Christianity spread in Egypt.
Last but not least, you will stop at the majestic Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues meant to guard the Pharaoh's temple from evil. Although the original temple was destroyed by an earthquake, these towering figures still stand strong — a true symbol of Egypt’s enduring legacy.
At the end of your tour, you will be transferred back in your air-conditioned vehicle to your cruise ship at Safaga Port, concluding this exceptional Safaga Shore Excursion.
