It is found in Cairo the capital city of Egypt . It was an Egyptian royal palace that was believed that it witnessed the birth of King Farouk  the last king of Egypt. It was called after the saffron plantations because of all the saffron gardens that surrounded it. It raised up on the  Haswa Palace wreck which was built by Muhammad Ali. All the drawing and paintings made by the Egyptian architect Maghrabi Bey Saad during the reign of Khedive Ismail in 1870. Khedive Ismail wanted to have an exact  model of Versailles Palace in France in where Khedive had her education period.

Khedive Ismail gave the palace to his mother Khoshyar Hanim as a present In 1872, her mother was so ill as her doctor consulted her to stay in the fresh air, so this palace was convenient  for her condition as the green grounds surrounding the palace and  natural landscapes.
In other opinions , The Palace  designed by Antonio Lasciac the talented Italian architect as a request of the beautiful two wives of the khedive ismail to save a memory of their dead husband.
And after a few years,  the king Fouad sold it to the government to built an university in reverse .the Ministry of Education made its decision to make the palace as a high school called after in honor of  Fouad the 1st the king in that time . Then, it turned to  the University of Ibrahim Pasha ‘s Administrative headquarters , before becoming the property of Ain Shams University.
