In the morning, we drive two hours from Amman to Gadara (Umm Qais), which used to belong to the famous Decapolis, a confederation of 10 cities, founded by Alexander the Great. Here you have a wonderful view of the northern Jordan Valley, the Golan Heights, and the Lake of Galilee. We head to Jerash, located in the foothills of Mount Gilead, an ancient city reminiscent of the Roman Empire.
