The current site of the church was a villa with a garden and a garage, owned by three brothers (one of them was chosen by accident, and it was called "Takla"). After the incident, it was revealed to one of the brothers in a dream that he should hand over the share of the deceased brother to the church. He hurried to Abouna Bishoy and related this dream to him, who in turn came to see the place (its total area is 14×20).
The subject was presented to Cyril VI, who blessed him and agreed that the church is in the name of Anba Takla Haymanot, and he also agreed to hold the first mass in memory of the venerable Archangel Michael (patron saint of Anba Takla and his family).

Some simple preparations were made and the prayers in the church were inaugurated by His Excellency Sahib Athanasius, Metropolitan of Beni Sueif, with a prayer of thanksgiving, raising early incense, and spraying the place with water around four o'clock in the morning on the day of Michael's memorial (Thursday, 12 Baounah 1685 A.M. June 19, 1969 A.D.). The reverend Archpriest Timothy Al-Muharraqi (the representative of the Patriarchate at that time), Bishoy Kamel, Hegumen Tadros Jacob, Luke Sedaros (from St. George's Church in Sporting), and the reverend Archpriest Philemon (pastor of the Church of Marmina in Fleming) participated in the prayer. With the participation of the teacher Naeem (the chanter of Margiers Church in Sporting), deacons and servants of St. George's Church in Sporting, and some of the Arachne and members of the Christ-loving people.

Bishoy asked to expand the church instead of this narrow place, so a place for the church was quickly built in the garden with an area of 34 x 25 meters. Prayers began in it during the reign of the reconciled Hegumen Mina Ava Mina (the representative of the Patriarchate at that time, who later became a bishop and head of the Monastery of Marmina in Mariout).
The baptistery was built next
Maximus visited Cyril VI and presented the matter to him, so he agreed to it (and that was on Tuesday, one week before his departure). Maximus came to the church about four months later and inaugurated the baptism. And it was not a week until one of the bishops came to pray in the church, and that was noticeable to everyone.

In the meantime, efforts were made to obtain a permit to build the church on the upper floor. This was done on Saturday, January 17, 1987 (corresponding to Tuba 8, 1704 A.S.), with the blessing of His Holiness Pope Shenouda III, who inaugurated the church. The great artist Isaac Fanous drew all the church's pictures and icons. On Sunday, July 15, 2007, Paulus, the Patriarch of Ethiopia, visited the Church of St. Takla Haymanot, as part of his visit to some Coptic institutions in Egypt. This is on a historic visit to Egypt, which is considered the beginning of restoring the relationship between the Coptic Orthodox Church and the Church of Ethiopia.
