Ptolemy VII

one of the sons of Ptolemy V and brother of Ptolemy VI. He ruled alongside his brother Ptolemy VI and his sister Cleopatra VII. When his elder brother Ptolemy VI was captured during the occupation of Egypt by the king of Syria Antiochus IV, he declared Ptolemy VII king of the remaining parts of Egypt, and when Ptolemy VI was released, the two kings ruled Egypt equally. In the year 163, the elder brother assumed power again ... until Ptolemy VI died in 145

Claudius Ptolemy, an Alexandrian philosopher, enhanced Eudoxus' geocentric model circa AD 140. Without describing perfect circles, Ptolemy conjured up a universe in which every body swung around the Earth.

Egypt Tours FAQ

It is recommended that women cover their bare skin as much as possible when visiting. It is especially important to cover the shoulders, and a simple scarf is sufficient for this purpose. It is also advised to wear long trousers or skirts, as legsthe should be covered as well. While some tourist books may suggest covering your head, it is not mandatory. However, covering your head is a sign of respect.
