Tomb of Ramses II's sons

The famous tomb of the sons of Ramses II is located in Tomb 5 and is considered the largest cemetery in the Valley of the Kings. It is owned by the sons of King Ramses II.

It was discovered in 1825 and work is still in progress so far. It has been discovered that 120 burial chambers and excavations are still in place. There are sayings that the number of Ramses II’s sons is 90 sons and daughters.

The tomb was found in a very bad condition and has been subject to conservation and restoration operations since 1994, which Kent Weeks described as the largest conservation and restoration work underway in the Valley of the Kings since the discovery of the tomb of King Tutankhamun in 1920.

The tomb is considered to be 5 of the most famous tombs in the Valley of the Kings and the largest of them is the area and number of burial stones so far.
