Lunch will be taken on board the Nile cruise. Later, you will join your guide to discover the great city of Aswan, including the High Dam, which was erected by Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser in 1960 AD to protect Egypt from the Nile flood. Afterward, you will sail on the Nile by motorboat to Agilika Island, where you will visit the temple of Philae, erected during the Greco-Roman period and dedicated to the goddess Isis (mother of the god Horus). Finally, you will be accompanied to visit one of the most beautiful sights of Aswan, the Unfinished Obelisk, which was built of red granite and was dedicated to the god Amun Re. After finishing your day trip, you will return to your boat and spend the night.

Meals Included: Lunch, Dinner

Your breakfast will be served onboard the Movenpick Prince Abbas Lake Nasser Cruise. Later, you will join your tour guide to discover the Kalabsha Temple. Located near the High Dam, Kalabsha Temple is the first stop on any Lake Nasser cruise. It was moved to this location from its original site 30 miles south after the dam was built. This temple's construction began in the late Ptolemaic dynasty and was completed during the reign of the Roman emperor Augustus. The result is an interesting mix of imagery that includes Egyptian and Roman themes with images of Roman emperors and pharaohs worshiping Egyptian gods. The temple was dedicated to the Nubian god Mandalas. You will also visit Beit El Wali, which was rescued from Lake Nasser by a Polish archaeological team funded by a joint project of the Oriental Institute of Chicago and the Swiss Institute in Cairo. The temple itself was built on a symmetrical cruciform plan. It consists of a deep hall, a transverse antechamber with two columns, and a sanctuary. Known as speos, the temple was mainly carved out of the surrounding rock, except for the front wall of the deep hall with its central door. After the visit, you will return to the cruise for refreshments and lunch on board, then the cruise will sail to Wadi El Sebou temple passing through the Tropic of Cancer.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

You will have breakfast on board the boat, then proceed to Wadi El Sebou, whose name in Arabic means "Valley of the Lions", referring to the avenue of sphinxes that leads to this temple, built during the reign of Ramses II. Although it was not moved to its current location until the 1960s, it was quickly forgotten and neglected. You will be back on the boat for lunch while the boat sails to Amanda, Amanda Temple is the oldest of the monuments around Lake Nasser. Dating from the 18th Dynasty of the New Kingdom, the temple predates Ramses II and Abu Simbel by about two hundred years; however, as it is typical of the great Pharaoh of Egypt, the mark of Ramses and that of his son Merenptah can be found inside.

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Early departure for Kasr Ibrim. The citadel of Kasr Ibrim was once a formidable city overlooking the Nile, but today it appears as an island due to the construction of the Aswan Dam. Then sail to Abu Simbel. Visit the temple of Abu Simbel. Built on the west bank of the Nile, between the first and second cataracts of the Nile, the site of Abu Simbel is one of the most recognizable ancient sites in Egypt. It contains two temples, carved into the mountainside, which were built by Pharaoh Ramses II (1303-1213 BC).

Meals Included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Optional Visit to Sound And Light Show at Abu Simbel

In the evening, you will attend a fascinating sound and light show. The sound and light show at Abu Simbel will transport you to the time of the pharaohs. It will enchant you with melodious music and bring the ancient world to life around you. The show includes projections in the temples showing how they used to look.  This is an experience not to be missed, which will make your visit to Abu Simbel the memory of a lifetime.
