The Karnak temple complex, the largest temple ever built in human history, is included on an afternoon tour of Luxor's east bank. The primary structure is the Amun Re temple, which was considered God's residence on Earth. During the New Kingdom, God Amen was the dominant deity of Thebes, and the ancient Egyptians desired to worship him by erecting temples dedicated to him.
The earliest constructions originate from the Middle Kingdom, however, there are hints of earlier structures from the 3rd Dynasty.
Later, you will see Luxor Temple, which was begun by one of the 12th dynasty monarchs and completed by Ramses II, the famed pharaoh. Like Karnak, this temple was dedicated to Amun Re, the principal god of ancient Thebes, and was positioned in the city's core. You will be transferred to your boat to rest and refresh after your day's adventure. The personnel will perform an Egyptian traditional display in the evening.
