Enjoy your final meal on board the Nile Dahabiya Merit cruise ship. We will arrive in Aswan early in the morning to start our Aswan day tours, visiting the most notable sites such as the Temple of Philae and the contemporary Aswan High dam, which was built by President Gamal Abdel Nasser in the 1960s to conserve water from the Nile floods. Although it is not the oldest dam ever built in Egypt, it is the most impressive, as the oldest examples of dams and canals were built during the twelfth dynasty under King Sesostris's supervision.
