MS Grand Sun Nile Cruise from Luxor

Enjoy a five-night cruise on board the MS Grand Sun Nile to see the sights between Luxor and Aswan. There are two ships in this fleet that alternate routes and itineraries: the MS Grand Sun Nile and the MS Grand Sun Cruise. Both offer similar amenities, but the MS Grand Sun Cruise is newer and has more modern features such as an outdoor movie theater.

The cruise starts in Luxor and takes you through the heart of the Valley of the Kings and Queens. You will visit the Colossi of Memnon, Karnak Temple, and Hatshepsut Temple (the oldest temple in Egypt). You'll also see several other temples along the way. And ends in Aswan, where you can take a tour of Elephantine Island to see some of the ancient ruins there among other attractions.

Itinerary

At Luxor Airport or train station, a Cairo Top Tours representative will welcome and assist you. You will be driven to your Nile cruise in an air-conditioned car to start your 5-day Nile cruise with MS Grand Sun.

The first day will be spent getting settled, and we'll start off by exploring Luxor East Bank Tours. Visit the Luxor Temple, a temple dedicated to the Theban Triad of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu. It is believed to be one of the best-preserved temples of ancient Egypt, with many of its original decorations intact.

Continue to visit the Karnak Temple, which is one of the largest ancient religious complexes (covering over 200 acres) in the world. It contains an assortment of temples, chapels, pylons, avenues, and other buildings. The centerpieces are two massive sanctuaries: one dedicated to the god Amon-Ra (the other dedicated to his wife Mut) and one dedicated to the goddess Amunet (who was worshipped as a consort of Amon in Thebes).

The Karnak temple was enclosed by an enclosure wall to imitate the primeval ocean where the god Amen appeared and created the world and everything for life. This temple was dedicated to worshiping the god Amen and his triad which consists of Amen, Mut, and their child god Khonso.

In the end, you will return back to the cruise and overnight on board.

Meals: Lunch, Dinner

In the early morning, you can enjoy a Hot Air Balloon ride in Luxor (optional).

Today is the day we visit the West Bank of Luxor tours. We'll start with a visit to the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, which is also known as Deir el-Bahri. It was built by King Thutmose III's daughter, and it has been named after her since its construction in the 15th century BCE. The temple was constructed to celebrate and honor Amun, who had favored Hatshepsut and assisted her in becoming pharaoh, by providing her with a divine father figure: Amun himself.

Next up will be a visit to the Valley of the Kings, which is a necropolis that  It contains numerous tombs built for the rulers and nobility of the New Kingdom of Egypt (1550–1069 BC), like those belonging to Tutankhamun, Ramses II, and Seti I.

After that, we'll head over to colossi Memnon, two giant stone statues of Amenhotep III that were moved to their current location in the 19th century CE.

Sailing to Edfu via Esna and overnight on board.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Today you will sail to reach Edfu, where you can see the Temple of Horus, one of the best-preserved monuments in Egypt. Enjoy a guided tour of the temple and take in its well-preserved reliefs depicting scenes from the life of Horus. From here, you will continue sailing to Kom Ombo, where you can explore another Temple dedicated to Horus that was built by Ptolemy VII Philometor (145–117 BC). Then, return to your cruise ship for a sumptuous lunch.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

After a relaxing night of sleep, we awoke to the sound of birds and a cool breeze coming from the Nile. It was time to get up and explore!
We started off with a visit to the High Dam as part of our Aswan day tours. The High Dam is actually two dams in one: one for water intake, and one for power generation. The water intake dam allows water from Lake Nasser to be pumped into the turbines for electricity production, which is then sold back to Egypt.

After that, we went to the Temple of Philae —one of only two existing temples still standing on the island of Philae—and Unfinished Obelisk which was started by Ramses II but never completed due to his death.

Dinner is served on board your Egyptian Nile cruise after an afternoon felucca ride on the Nile around Kitchener Island.

It can happen when only a few seats are available and many customers book the offer at the same time. But remember, you can always ask to join a group tour if available, this option will guarantee the reduction of the tour pricing as we mostly deal with private guided tours to assure the highest quality of service.
The proportionately higher prices for people traveling alone (Solo Travelers) mostly result from the higher overnight-room costs, as normally almost all hotel rooms are structured for 2 people who can each assume half of the overnight costs. This also applies to flat-rate travel. The hotels would not benefit from offering a reduction to solo travelers when the rooms could be occupied by 2 persons at a normal price. During the low season, some hotels lower the prices as a reason for the decreased demand since they have a large number of beds when the demand is not too high.
Prices vary throughout the year depending on the offer and request. During the summer and especially during the holidays that are considered high seasons like the Christma and New Year holidays, Easter holidays, and special events such as sports championship or destinations that are very popular and recent. Therefore tour operators can demand higher prices according to the increasing cost of accommodation and/ or implementation.
Most trips can also be booked for a shorter or longer period. However, if, for example, your departure time is changed, trips lasting 5 or 10 days will not be possible, that’s why we always request the flight details before proceeding with the booking, just to make sure the last suggested itinerary is fit for both the traveler and the operator.
From the date of booking until 46 days before your arrival date, 10% of the entire tour price will be charged. Between 45 and 31 days before your arrival date, 20% of the entire tour price will be charged. Between 30 and 15 days before your arrival date, 50% of the entire tour price will be charged. Between 14 and 1 days before your arrival date, 100% of the entire tour price will be charged.
