5 Days Luxury Cairo and Luxor Christmas Package

Have your breakfast at your hotel; today you'll visit three of Egypt's most important pyramid sites in one day.

Start at the Giza Pyramids, home to the Great Pyramid of Khufu, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. You'll also see the Pyramid of Khafre, the Pyramid of Menkaure, and the Great Sphinx. Optional camel or horse rides are available for photos.

The next necropolis is known for several popular attractions. Saqqara, where you'll see the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the oldest stone in Egypt, built before Giza. It's quieter than Giza and shows how pyramid building started.

The last stop is Dahshur, home to the Bent Pyramid, built during the end of the 27th century BC, and the Red Pyramid, both built by King Sneferu. The Red Pyramid is considered Egypt's first true smooth sided pyramid. Dahshur sees very few tourists, so it's a peaceful place to explore.

Wake up very early to have your breakfast for an early flight from Cairo to Luxor. On arrival, your guide will meet you for a full day exploring Luxor's East and West Banks.

Start on the West Bank, home to the Valley of the Kings, where Egypt's pharaohs were buried in hidden underground tombs, including Tutankhamun's tomb (entry ticket sold separately). You'll also visit the Temple of Hatshepsut, built into the cliffs for Egypt's most famous female pharaoh, and stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues guarding the entrance to a long-lost temple.

In the afternoon, cross to the East Bank to visit Karnak Temple, the largest temple complex ever built in Egypt, known for its rows of giant columns and open-air museum. End the day at Luxor Temple, beautifully lit at night and located right in the city center.

Have your breakfast at your Luxor hotel. Then, fly back to Cairo in the morning, then head to the Grand Egyptian Museum, the world's largest museum dedicated to a single civilization. See thousands of ancient Egyptian artifacts, including the full Tutankhamun collection, displayed together for the first time.

In the afternoon, visit Coptic Cairo, one of the oldest parts of the city and an important center for Egypt's Christian history. Highlights include the Hanging Church, built above an old Roman gate, and the Church of St. Sergius, believed to mark a resting place of the Holy Family during their journey through Egypt. You'll also pass by the Ben Ezra Synagogue, one of the oldest synagogues in Egypt.
