Aswan High Dam, an embankment dam constructed in Aswan, Egypt, that crosses the Nile, has been known as the Aswan Dam since the 1960s.
Following the 1952 Egyptian Revolution, the government made building the High Dam a top priority due to the Low Dam's success, which was then utilized to the fullest extent.
